Drop by from May through October and meet our dedicated team in action.
The knowledgeable staff is committed to making the Museum mission and vision become real for the community and visitors to the area.
Since January 2013, Susanne Richter has been at the helm as Executive Director. She has been leading the Museum team to bring the heritage of the St. Lawrence River, the 1000 Islands and the magic spirit of the region to life through Museum exhibits, educational programs, activities and special events.
Susanne brings a wealth of experience to the job including the federal Museum system, project management, advertising and fundraising.
Rebecca Keyes is the Museum Manager, and keeps the day to day Museum operations humming along like a fine tuned outboard motor! Her background, training and experience in business management and woodworking skills fit perfectly with the demands of this role.
She oversees the daily activities of the woodworking/boat restoration/building programs, as well as supervising the summer students, the volunteer cohort, the summer children's educational and arts program, and the 2015 Exhibits, and assists with planning special events such as the annual Boat Parade.
Our Volunteer Group currently consists of individuals from the community, who simply want to be part of it. Though small at this time, the group is mighty in the skills and experience that it brings to the Museum. Everyone loves their interest, energy and dedication! We continue to look for more volunteers to grow this very valuable program. If you are interested, please contact us.
Thanks to all of you.
Sincere thanks to the many local individuals and businesses who have helped in the initial stages of the Museum's development.
Their contribution is greatly appreciated and has been instrumental in getting the facility and programming underway.
Thank you !
